Engr. Wopa Kamila Maliki, FNSE, mni- Registrar of COREN

Engr. Maliki Wopa Kamila is the Registrar of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria.

Until this present appointment, he was the Director, Water Resources Engineering Service, Ministry of Water Resources, Kwara State and in charge of the Kwara State Water Turn-Around Programme.

He has over the years acquired experience in various aspects of engineering project supervision, construction and procurement services, in the civil service of the Kwara State. He served as a member of several project team in the State, such as KWHA Complex, Kwara State Library, Secretariat Phase II & III etc projects . He was directly in charge of Mechanical Engineering Service design and supervision of several capital projects in the State. In 2003, as a mark of recognition of his astute qualities as an engineer and administrator, Engr. Kamila was appointed the General Manager of the Kwara State Water Corporation

Engr. Kamila became a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) in 1997 and, in the same year, registered as a Mechanical Engineer with Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). He has served the NSE as a member of the ILORIN branch Executive Committee in various capacities culminating to the position of Chairman in 2012. He was a member of the COREN ERM Committee in Ilorin Zone, where he also served as the COREN Supervising Engineer from 2002-2013.

Engr. Kamila attended the Government Secondary School, Malete between January 1973 and June 1977. He also studied at Kwara State College of Technology, Ilorin and acquired the Higher National Diploma. With the zeal to further his education, he proceeded to the then Anambra State University of Science and Technology, Enugu where he bagged the Post Graduate Diploma and Master in Engineering in 1988 and 1990 respectively. Engr. Kamila took time off his busy schedule to study for a Master in Public Administration certificate of the University of Ilorin in 2003.

He was nominated to attend the Senior Executive Course 28 of the prestigious National institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru-Jos in 2006 and thus became a member of the national institute (mni). He was also conferred with the fellowship award of NSE in November 2010.

Engr. Kamila, a professional engineer and seasoned administrator is married with children.


Mr. Olusegun Oladokun, FCA

Born to Christian Parents, he hails from Idepe-Okitipupa, Ondo State of Nigeria.

He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).

A product of Methodist High School, Okitipupa in Ondo State and the Federal Polytechnic,Ado-Ekiti in the current Ekiti State of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

He was appointed a lecturer at his alma-mater, Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti and served from 1986 to 2003 when he left for Coates Brothers (WA) Ltd., Agidingbi, Ikeja. He served the ink company for over six years before leaving for the now defunct Turning Point Newspapers, Ijora, Lagos where he served very briefly before pitching tent with COREN, his present employer. He is now a Deputy Director Special duties in COREN.

He bagged the Lecturer of the year award from the Dramatic and Theatre Club of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti in 1991. This was in recognition of his hard-work and punctuality for lectures in the Accountancy Department.

He has attended many courses locally and internationally and is married with children.



Engr. Alhassan A. Aliyu, FNSE

Engr. Alhassan A. Aliyu,FNSE,MNIM,FCAI,MNICE, was born in Minna on the 28th of July 1961. He attended Government College Sokoto between 1973 and 1977. He obtained OND and HND in Civil Engineering from the Kaduna Polytechnic and Federal Polytechnic Bida in1981 and 1984 respectively. In 1990 Engr. Aliyu proceeded to the Loughborough University, England where he obtained an MSc in Urban Engineering in 1992.

Engr. Aliyu started work with the Niger State government in 1981 as an Assistant Technical Officer in the Ministry of Works Minna and rose to the position of Director Civil Engineering Services in 2004.He joined COREN in 2011 and is currently the Deputy Director (Professional Development). Engr. Aliyu has attended several courses in Nigeria and abroad. He is also a member of several professional bodies.

He is happily married with two children.


Mr. A.K Animosahun

Mr. Animosahun A. Kamardeen was born on 3rd April, 1957 in Oyo, Atiba Local Government of Oyo State of Nigeria. He attended Oranyan Grammar School Oyo between 1970 and 1975.

He obtained a B.Ed (Physics/Mathematics) degree from the University of Ibadan in 1980. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration of the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON).

He taught at various levels of Education including Colleges of Education and Polytechnic. He was briefly a part-time lecturer at the Physics Department of Usman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto between 1990 and 1993.

He joined COREN as the Head of Administration Department of the Registry in February 2003 and served in that capacity till 2014. He is currently the Head of Council Secretariat and Assistant Secretary to Council. He services all Council meetings.

A fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration and an honorary fellow of NATE, he has attended courses both locally and internationally.

He is happily married with children.


Engr. M.U. Adoyi, FNSE, MNIM

Engr. Matthias (Mayas) Ugwu Adoyi was born on 27th July, 1965 in lpole Ugbugbu Owukpa, Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State of Nigeria.
He graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Benin in 1987. He also holds an MBA in Management from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
His previous places of work include the Benue State Polytechnic and the Nigerian Coal Corporation.
He is currently the Head of Engineering Regulation and Control of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, COREN, as Assistant  Director.
Engr. Mayas Adoyi also functions as the Secretary of the Main Organising Committee of the annual COREN Engineering Assembly and the Editor of the COREN Newsletter.
He is a Corporate Member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and a Chattered Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management.
Engr. Adoyi is a team player, enjoys reading and football. He is married with children.


A.T. Obafunmi (Mrs)

Mrs. Ayoola Taiwo Obafunmi was born on the 15th November, 1969. She hails from Ogun State, Nigeria. She started her primary education at Mount Carmel Convent School, E/B, Lagos (First School Leaving Certificate, 1981) and secondary school at Wesley Girls Secondary School, Yaba, Lagos- West African School Certificate (WASC) 1986. She then went further for a Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) at Ogun State Polytechnic, Abeokuta for an Advanced Level Certificate (GCE-A Level) 1989

She obtained her B. A. (Hons.) English (Second Class Upper Division) from Ogun State University, now Olabisi Onabanjo University Ago-Iwoye in 1994 and later proceeded to University of Lagos where she bagged her M. A. (Hons) Degree in Literature in 1998.

Mrs. Obafunmi was employed into the services of COREN as an Assistant Registrar in 1998. She pioneered COREN Zonal Office in Warri in 2001 and was later transferred to COREN Head office Abuja in 2004 to Head the Registration Department, apposition she held for over 8 years. She is currently the Head of Management Services Department as Assistant Director.

A member of Nigerian Institute of Management (AMNIM), she has attended courses locally and internationally.

Mrs. Obafunmi is married to a Pastor and they are blessed with children.



Barr. Ify Eke

Barr. Ify Eke was born in Anambra, Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

She completed her Secondary School at Ogidi Girls’ Secondary School Ogidi in Anambra state. She further attended the University of Nigeria, Nsuka Enugu Campus where she obtained her LLB. She also bagged her B.L from the Nigerian Law School Abuja.

She joined the Services of COREN 16years ago and has risen to the current post of an Assistant Director Legal Services.

Barr. Ify has attended many Courses locally and internationally.


Engr. Aku Joseph Agabi, MNSE

Engr. Aku Joseph Agabi was born on 13th February, 1971 in Kaduna, Kaduna state. He attended Government College Kaduna between 1982 and 1988. He obtained a B.Eng in Mechanical Engineering from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He also holds Post Graduate Diplomas in Engineering, Management and Administration from University of Agriculture Makurdi, Benue State University and Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON) Badagry, Lagos respectively.

Engr. Agabi has worked in different capacities at COREN Zonal offices and Headquarters. He is currently the Head of COREN Engineering Professional Development Centre, Gwarinpa.

He is a Corporate Member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and has served and is still serving in various committees at the National level. He is also a member of the NSE Abuja branch where he severally served as an executive committee member.

He is married with children.

Mr. Sunday Abudu, ACA

Mr. Abudu Sunday Omotayo was born on 28th March, 1968 in Somolu, Lagos State.  He is a native of Ago-Iwoye, in Ijebu North LGA of Ogun State.

He attended Sanni-Luba Primary and Secondary School in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State between 1974 - 1984.  He studied Accountancy at Lagos State Polytechnic, Isolo, Lagos State (National Diploma) between 1985 -1987 and Yaba College of Technology, Yaba, Lagos (1990 - 1993) where he obtained (Higher National Diploma (Lower Credit) in Accountancy & Finance.  He is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN).

Mr. Abudu has worked in different establishments as a Cost Accounting Clerk, Clerical Officer, Account Officer and Cost Accountant.  He has also served as an Audit Trainee in Titi-Olaniyan & Co. (a firm of Chartered Accountant) between 1988 - 2002.  He joined the Council for the Regulation of Engineering Nigeria, COREN in 2003 as Principal Registry Assistant (Audit) and rose to the post of Assistant Chief Auditor in 2012.  Presently, he is the Chief Accountant and the Head of Finance & Accounts.

He is married with children.

Engr. Dipo Mabogaje, MNSE

Engr. Oladipupo Isiaka Mabogaje, MNSE, AFCIA was born in Ebute-Metta, Lagos on the 31st March, 1976. He obtained B. Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Oyo State in 1999. He also holds M. Sc. in Industrial & Production Engineering from University of Ibadan in 2004 and Diploma certificate in Industrial safety, Planning & Control from Federal College of Education, Akoka – Lagos in 2005.

Engr. O. I. Mobogaje worked in different capacities across Engineering filed such as, Boston Nig. Ltd., IHS Nig. Ltd. in Lagos, Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) Headquarters, Abuja and joined Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, COREN, in 2010, as Maintenance Officer and Later as Zonal Officer South South, 2013 and he is currently the Head of Procurement Unit of COREN.

Engr. Mabogaje has attended several courses in Nigeria and a member of several professional bodies.

He is happily married to Mrs. Gift Chinyere Aishat (Nee Uche) Mabogaje.


Haruna Ojonugwa

Ojonugwa Haruna was born on 1st October, 1978 in Makurdi, Benue State. She attended her primary Education at St. Catherine Primary School Makurdi, 1988. She then went to United Faith Tabernacle College in Jos, Plateau State in 1991 and completed at Ochaja Girls Secondary School in 1998.

She obtained her B. A. (Hon) Mass Communication from Kogi State University Anyagba in 2003.

Ojonugwa Haruna is married with Children.

Engr. Peter Awunde, MNSE

Peter Awunde was born on 20th October, 1976 at Naka, Gwer-West L.G.A of Benue State. He completed his secondary school at Govt. Secondary School Maina, Lafia Nassarawa State. He further attended the Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi where he obtained a B.ENG (Electrical/Electronics). He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Education.
He taught in many international Schools and worked with many IT firms in Abuja before joining COREN where he is currently the head of Information Technology.

He has attended many Courses locally and internationally some of which include;
